Mommy’s New Toy

We decided this year that we were going to have some fun and be frivilous with our tax refund. I needed a new computer but didn't really want to get one yet but I was impatient and didn't want to wait till later in the year to spend my mad money so I put the new computer further on hold and bought me a new computer, a snazzy, sexy, Macintosh Titanium G4, big screen, DVD, wireless internet, cool ass machine. I did alot of justifying before I bought it. One was that RAW wouldn't be a computer widower anymore as I am able to do my thing right next to him on the couch (like right now) as opposed to going off to the computer room. Because I have wireless internet (Airport) I can walk around the house and browse the net at the same time, I can even sit in the bathroom if I have to ;-) It also has DVD so it is a fancy, expensive DVD player that I can hook up to the TV. We have already rented a few movies that way and it works beautifully. Another cool thing I can do with this machine is edit digital movies whenever and where ever I am. Definately a cool toy, uh um, tool

Daylights Savings Time

I don't know why I am so hung up on Hollace's sleep habits but I am so when it comes time for a time change I strategize.

Hollace normally gets up at 7:30 am and takes a nap at 12:30 or 1:00 and goes to bed at 8 p.m. I like it that way so didn't want her to sleep till 8:30 this morning as it will throw off everything else.

I got the bright idea yesterday to just leave her blinds open so she wakes with the light of day.

It worked; she was awake at 7:30 or so. Unfortunately I forgot I didn't want to get up at 7:30 (or as far as I was concerned 6:30) on a Sunday, especially after I just lost an hour and went to bed too late.

What a dork, why didn't I wait till tomorrow to adjust her for daylights savings time when I have to get up early anyway.

Besides, RAW is coming home tonight (he was out of town this weekend) and if I would of let Hollace go natural with her time she could of went to bed 9pm and had some quality time with daddy. Oh geez, too smart for my own good ;-)

Hollace-isms

Joke:
Hollace has her first joke (I don't think there is a place in her baby book to write this down). She heard it a couple weeks ago by a neighbor girl. I goes like this:

she says, "knock, knock"; I say "who's there?"; she says "banana". We do this several times then she says something unrecognizable.

Sick:
Well we made it a whole 2 years without Hollace getting sick, aside from a couple runny noses. A few days after her 2 year checkup (by the way, she was 34" and 26.3 lbs, about 50% for both) she woke up on a Saturday throwing up (her first time). She continued to do this all day but was her perky self. Sunday was a different story, she wasn't throwing up anymore but now she had a fever and she started to act sickly. Her temperature went up to 104 and Tylenol didn't seem to help. That night her temperature went down to about 100 and started to feel a little better. She was sitting on my lap while I tried to eat dinner when she let loose of the juice she was drinking. I guess I have arrived as a parent cause I just toweled off and continued to eat my dinner (ok, it wasn't as gross it sounds, it was only juice ;-).

The next day she was neither feverous or throwing up but she seemed like she now had an ear infection (she has never had one) so we called the doctor to take a look at it. We went in on Tuesday to hear that her ears are clear and she seemed perfect. She did lose 1.3 lbs since the week before though. Guess what happened 3 days later, she got a cold!

We got to quit taking her to the doctor, it is hazadous to her health.

Potty training:
There is no progress so to speak on the potty training front. She just isn't into it. We are ok with that, she will let us know when she is ready. No need to stress either her or us about it. Of course we just got to deal with grama or RAW's mom who come from the old generation.

In the meantime Hollace is already lying to us. When asked if she has a poopy diaper when it is obvious she does, she will blantantly say NO.

Language:
It is hard to keep with this because she comes up with something new everyday. Just today it was; after she hurls something at me, she says "catch". Also this weekend she was really into circles. She likes to put socks on her hand and do funny voices, they are her puppets. And she now says "yourwelcome" every time we say Thank You.
