This weekend

It was Memorial Day weekend and we pulled up the camper to Manitowoc WI to camp in Pam’s driveway. It was freakin cold (56) except for today. It was in the 80s and Hollace is sick. Poor kid, she has this uncanny knack of first being sick on a weekend. Only it is a weekend technically but a holiday weekend day. Figures. Also it seems that everytime the temp gets to 80 this spring, she is sick. A few weeks ago she was sick (on a Sunday) and 80 degrees. Michael (5) had a fever last night but didn’t seem too sick.
The 3 hour drive home today was so miserable for her. She cried the whole way. Her whole body hurt she said. Children’s Tylenol doesn’t touch her. That is all Pam had. As soon as we got home we got her some Motrin and has perked up considerably.

We went to the parade this morning to see Read (16), Jeff (16) and Will (13.5) march in the band and to see Phil (almost 7) march with the cub scouts.

For those who might be reading this I have 2 sisters in Manitowoc with 9 kids between them. Really they both had 4 each but Cindy is the guardian of Tim’s step sister’s son, Shawn who is 13. I think Shawn really has a good chance at growing up right staying with Cindy and Tim. He eventually will go back with his mom as well as his 7 year old brother who is staying with Tim’s sister in Arizona and her 4 kids.

As usual I am the cool aunt with my Mac computer. I now have lots of video using PhotoBooth and several new compositions saved using Garage Band.

Mom and Dad got to Manitowoc at the same time as we did. They stayed in a hotel this time since the driveway camping is limited to one now. There is no way anyone can get a camper in Cindy’s driveway.

I don’t think mom and dad are doing too well anymore and I think their traveling days are over. Dad is really shaking now. He keeps his hands in the pockets more and then they are out there are major tremors going on. Tim was following him in a car and said he was all over the road.

Mom the navigator can’t do it with her macular degeneration, she can’t see signs. They kept getting lost then she gets frazzled.

Dad hurt my feelings while at the picnic at Cindy’s. It was cold and Tim said something about insulation. He meant drink more beer to keep warm but I made a fat crack on myself by saying I got the insulation thing covered. Tim was like, no, no, no, I don’t mean that. My dad goes, glad you said it cause I was thinking it. Back at ya fat guy.

I apparently don’t remember much about our childhood. Either that or my sisters’ have an amazing memory or I was never around when things happened. I was a homebody so I doubt that. I am bugged by this. I really feel like I live half a life and apparently always have. I got to do something. I got to lose 100 lbs and quit being afraid to live a good life.

Ok got to go, my sick girl just told me she feels like some bacon. It is 7:23 and it will be the first food since 9am when she ate a piece of bread. I doubt she will be able to eat it but we will try.
