It stopped raining by noon. We went into the lovely town of Petoskey originally to look for the library so we can lob onto some wireless to feed Hollace’s and mine’s internet addiction. Wouldn’t ya know it but the library in Petoskey is closed on Wednesday? We instead went to the town art center across the street not for the internet but rather for some art. Very nice and interesting place. We then walked the downtown. Our first stop of all places was at Ace Hardware. That was the most interesting Ace I have ever been at, definitely in a tourist town. There we bought a Mr Cherry Chomper to extract the pits from cherries of which we bought a pound the night before at the grocery store. We then headed to the other end of the block to go to the internet café for a little surfing. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking the town, very quaint.
At night we watched old Dick Van Dyke shows from DVD and had root beer floats. For some reason a book I causally picked up the library a couple weeks ago became my vacation reading, It was a book on the Dick Van Dyke show.
We originally planned on spending a day on Macinaw island but because we had such a wonderful campsite right on the beach and the town of Petoskey was so quaint we decided we would forego that trip and just hang out.
